Why is Al Adaq more accurate than other prayer apps?

Unlike other applications that use calculation methods to guess local prayer times, Al Adaq prioritizes "Official" times where supported. Calculation methods often fail to match official times which are frequently adjusted manually by local authorities. If official times are unavailable, Al Adaq falls back to calculation.

What does the "Official" badge mean?

Whenever you see the word "Official" on the top of the prayer times table, it means we periodically verify that those times exactly match the schedule set by your nearest mosque.

Our Core Privacy Commitment

Al Adaq is built with deep respect for your time, worship, and privacy. The app is completely free of third-party advertisements, does not sell or share any user data with commercial brokers, and processes your precise location exclusively on your device.

Al Adaq does not contain any advertisements, banners, interstitial popups, or commercial tracking SDKs. We do not collect Google Advertising IDs (GAID) or Apple IDFA, and we do not profile your usage for advertising purposes.

Location Data (Processed Strictly on Device)

When you grant approximate or precise location permissions to Al Adaq, this data is used exclusively on your local device to:

Calculate and select the accurate prayer times for your current city or mosque.
Determine the correct Qibla direction towards the Kaaba in Makkah.
Automatically update prayer schedules when you travel between cities.

Important: Your precise GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) are NEVER stored on our servers, transmitted over the network, or shared with any third party.

Anonymous Diagnostic Telemetry (Opt-In)

To ensure dependable alarm triggering across thousands of Android device models and manufacturer battery management systems (such as Xiaomi HyperOS, Samsung One UI, Huawei, and OnePlus), Al Adaq includes an optional, anonymous telemetry service.

If you opt in, the app periodically sends non-identifiable technical diagnostics, including:

Install Identifier: A random, non-identifiable UUID generated during installation (not linked to your personal identity, phone number, or Google account).
Device & OS Metadata: Device manufacturer (e.g., Xiaomi), model (e.g., 2312DRA50C), Android version (e.g., Android 17), and app language.
Alarm Timing Precision: Difference in milliseconds between scheduled alarm time and actual execution time to diagnose Android Doze mode delays.
System Permissions State: Whether battery optimization exemption and exact alarm capabilities are active.
General Region: Country code (e.g., DZ) and selected city ID (e.g., 29) to verify localized calculation accuracy.

You can enable or disable anonymous telemetry at any time directly in the app via Settings → Anonymous Telemetry.

Local Data Storage & Security

All your personal preferences, customized notification presets, spoken alert configurations, and cached prayer schedules are stored securely on your local device using an encrypted local database.

All communications with our official API servers (api.aladaq.org) are strictly encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS 1.3 / HTTPS encryption.

Third-Party Services & Disclosures

Al Adaq does not sell, rent, trade, or share any personal information with third-party advertisers, data aggregators, or commercial marketing firms.

Children's Privacy

Al Adaq is a general-audience application designed for Muslims of all ages. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13.
